Hi, I’m Tamara Mahal. I founded Agile for Impact in 2023 because I believe mission-driven organizations deserve the same tools, strategies, and creative problem-solving that businesses use to thrive. For too long, nonprofits and startups have been asked to do more with less. I started this work to show that there are better ways forward — ones that build resilience, open new opportunities, and create lasting impact.

My career has always centered on growth and partnerships. I’ve helped organizations rethink revenue models, scale services, and design collaborations that open doors to new markets. As a nonprofit executive, I secured multimillion-dollar investments and built a workplace wellness practice that became both a sustainable income stream and a way to deepen mission impact. In government, I conceived and implemented cross-sector partnerships — from launching Chicago’s COVID-19 vaccine booking system with a healthcare startup to creating the city’s Community Safety Coordination Center that united dozens of agencies around a common goal. And as a consultant and fractional executive, I’ve guided nonprofits, startups, and equity firms in aligning strategy with execution to deliver measurable growth.

At the heart of it all, my work is about partnership. I don’t show up with a binder of recommendations and walk away. I roll up my sleeves, sit next to you, and stay until the work is real, sustainable, and ready to live inside your organization without me.

On a more personal note — I’m a die-hard Indiana Hoosiers fan, a proud Chicagoan, and someone who cares deeply about family (my number one priority). I bring that same energy and loyalty into my work: showing up with honesty, creativity, and persistence, even when the challenges are complex.

Why Now

Mission-driven organizations are under more pressure than ever. Funding is unpredictable, needs are rising, and leaders are being asked to deliver greater impact with fewer resources. The old ways of operating — chasing grants, relying on overextended staff, or waiting for ideal circumstances — no longer work.

Now is the time to think differently. Agile for Impact exists to be a partner in that shift: helping organizations generate sustainable revenue, build partnerships that truly deliver, and create operations that make work easier, not harder.
